I purchased a BBSHD from Luna Cycle. Put it on a front suspended fat bike which is way lighter than the Sur Ron but definitely down on power but enough that it will go anywhere I want to go on single track and just over 35 mph top speed. I ride on bicycle trails where the Sur Ron cannot legally go here. I can also carry an extra Luna battery in my backpack for long excursions to make sure I can make it back and worse case scenario I can pedal back. I think this is better solution for riding off road close to the house since we have so many singletrack bicycle trails here. For where I could ride a Sur Ron up in the mountains (15 miles away), I have a Yz450, big tank and carry extra gas in back pack for longer trips. I eventually will get it plated. Again I think this is a better more fun solution. When a bicylce like the Sur Ron can reach 100 miles and recharge 50 percent (50 miles) in 20 mins then I would consider getting one. I use to race motocross. I could see something like this being used for supercross or motocross. Set known distance and time would make it excellent for track racing I would think. 50 miles it so short for mountain use and no reserve is a mixture for pushing the bike back to the truck. I usually do about 60 on the dirtbike. Given time, they may be a viable replacement for the dritbike, but right now for me it is too limited. I am glad people like you like them, it will only push Sur Ron to make better/longer distance bikes that recharge faster. (a way to limit the battery usage to include a “reserve tank” capability (small extra battery)
